As this is a genuine photograph, the dog could be the pet of a member of Stainless Games. Pitbull owns a Weimaraner dog named Lily, and loves it very much - there are two photos and one drawing of her in the Towmeisters cabin. Good luck, let us know if you get anywhere (or not!). The Towmeister reappears in TDR 2000, driven by Hugh Jorgen. I can attest that they're solid drivers with a lot of low-level bugfixes since 355.82. Make sure you use version 358.50 as well. It's a good idea to check that since you're having issues, it may just help.

When you're selecting the components to install you should find a checkbox that says something like "Reset all current settings", or words to that effect. During the installation, it's advisable to select "Custom" and only install the components you need (I never install "Geforce Experience" because I don't find it useful at all and I also skip the 3D Vision drivers because I don't use 3D Vision - your mileage may vary, install what you need but make sure to include PhysX, you definitely need that).
Just install the latest drivers straight over the top of the old ones and let the installer do the necessary cleanup. It's absolutely true that nVidia drivers used to be notorious for this (updating nVidia drivers was such a nightmare) but they've finally overcome this issue and the best advice today is don't try any manual uninstallation or cleanup of nVidia drivers.
